New editor for delicious.

Eye to Eye Media Ltd announces the appointment of a new editor for its leading food title, delicious.

Eye to Eye Media is delighted to announce that Karen Barnes has been appointed as the editor of delicious. magazine. Karen starts on 7 April 2010 and replaces Matthew Drennan, who is leaving to pursue his dream of opening a delicatessen/café on the south coast.

Karen Barnes has worked in magazines for more than 20 years, starting her career on Woman and Woman's Own, then, in 1996, moving on to Good Housekeeping. She has been associate editor of Good Housekeeping and head of the Good Housekeeping Institute for the past six years, editing special-project food magazines and heading up the food, consumer, homes, gardens, fashion and beauty teams. She launched the Good Housekeeping Food Awards in 2005.

Karen Barnes says: "I'm delighted to be joining delicious. as it's both beautiful and inspiring, and I've wanted to edit a food magazine for as long as I can remember. Food, to me, is about heart, soul, passion and sharing good times with family and friends. Above all, I believe quality food should and must be accessible to everyone, and I feel passionately about passing on those skills - skills that are often forgotten or, worse, never learned. Food has the power to unite families and the community, and that's what I want delicious. to achieve."

delicious. publisher Adrienne Moyce says: "We are thrilled that Karen will be joining us in the spring. Her food credentials speak for themselves and we look forward to her taking delicious. to the next level."

The Eye to Eye Media Ltd portfolio includes delicious. magazine, launched in the UK in November 2003 under licence from News Magazines in Australia. The magazine is currently number two in the food magazine market with a circulation of 101,039 (ABC audit Jan-Jun 09).
